518. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Omega Strikers, Cassette Beasts

This week's podcast sees the gang go to a galaxy far, far away as most of the team has been playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. In fact, some of us have played all of it, like Mick, but not Adam.

 

Lyle however, hasn't played it. So he's spent his week playing fantastic new multiplayer titles like Omega Strikers, and Cassette Beasts, which he says is the best Pokemon game he's ever played, despite not being a Pokemon game. You get what we mean!

517. Dead Island 2, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp, Bayonetta Origins

On this week's podcast, we discuss Dead Island 2, which is finally out. No seriously, it's real: we've played it. Elsewhere, Adam has finished up with Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp, and enjoyed it for the most part, but it's not the ultimate remake he perhaps wanted. Will it spawn more Advance Wars games? Who knows.

 

Chris Hyde and Lyle have been busy playing games like Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, and have varying thoughts about that, too, while Lyle has also had a quick bash of the post launch content for Resident Evil 4 Remake, ie: the Mercenaries mode.

516. Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, Overwatch 2 Season 4

515. Redfall, Tchia, Dredge

This week's podcast is going to be a more calm affair, we think, as surely Chris Hyde won't drop any more food-related opinions on the audience?

Anyway, a few weeks ago Adam visited Bethesda's UK HQ to play Redfall, and while he's got plenty to say in his preview, we're definitely going to talk about it on the podcast too. Likewise, Tchia is out now, and is a fascinating game, that reminds us of why we love games, in some ways. Finally, sticking with the theme of water, fishing, islands, etc, Lyle has reviewed Dredge, which is a surprising game in so many ways.

514. Resident Evil 4 Remake, Bayonetta Origins, Have a Nice Death

A new episode of the podcast, and three new games. Well, a remake of an old game that's new again, and two new games. Right?

Resident Evil 4 Remake isn't out yet, but we've reviewed it and played it, and loved it. While we can't and won't spoil everything ahead of the release date at the end of the month, it's time to have a good chat about how we feel about this new version of a beloved game.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is out now though, and Adam loved that. Could this series be the future for Bayonetta Have a Nice Death isn't Dead Cells, but it's very similar, but is that a bad thing? Phew, what a chock-full podcast this will be.

512. Octopath Traveler 2, Atomic Heart, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe

It serves us right for taking half the month off the podcast, because the games are back and they mean business. An early Game of the Year contender is now out in the form of Octopath Traveller 2, and Adam is smitten with it.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is also out now, and while not usually the biggest fan of the pink sucker, Adam is quite taken with this one. What about Atomic Heart though, is that any good?

511. Wild Hearts, PlayStation VR2, Wanted: Dead

We may have been absent with the podcast for a few weeks, but that's because we've been playing ALL the games, and some PSVR2.

 

Adam has been busy playing PlayStation VR2 to the point where he's not entirely sure what's real and what's not any more. Horizon Call of the Mountain is the big launch title, but is it the best one? Elsewhere, Chris Hyde has been hunting monsters in mon...no, wait, Wild Hearts. He's also been swearing himself into a frenzy thanks to the hardcore nature of Wanted: Dead. This is your one and only chance to get him to "git gud", folks. Last and definitely least, it's Lyle! Only joking, he's been playing Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, and really rather likes it.

510. Forspoken, Dead Space, Hi-Fi Rush

Well, well, well 2023, you certainly are making for a very busy start to the podcast season, aren't you? Forspoken is out now, and Mick has played all of it, while Adam has played some of it. Is it actually any good? Is the first big PS5 exclusive worth your time and money?

Elsewhere, as if one big game isn't enough, the long (long, long, long -- you get me) awaited rebirth of Dead Space is here, and Adam and Chris White have been hard at that one, too. There's no way they can mess it up, right? You've probably read the review already and know it's good, but play along! Also, Xbox is being left out in the cold as Inkulinati is coming to Game Pass on both console and PC, and Lyle has been playing this strategy game that's in Preview Programme/Early Access.

Then, of course, there's the impending release of Season: A Letter to the Future, and the Xbox Developer_Direct, which saw the release of Hi-Fi RUSH, which Adam and Chris White have been playing. It's a packed podcast, this one!

This week's podcast is back to modern gaming, with Mick having played Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, while Fire Emblem Engage is out now, too. Adam loves that, and Mick loves Wo Long, but what does Chris Hyde think of his game for this week's show?

The 70s was before most of our time, but Colossal Cave is a remake of a very old, very classic game: does it hold up? Chris is here to tell us. Or, yeah, you could read his review, I suppose.
