On this week's podcast we're still playing lots of incredibly long role playing games, but also, Suicide Squad is out.
Chris Hyde is slowly making his way through Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, while Adam is trying to finish Persona 3 Reload, a task which Lyle has already managed. It's not helping that Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now available, and we have some thoughts on that, as we've been playing for a few hours now.
Of course, listener correspondence is an ever-present on the podcast, and it seems like people want us to be nice to each other. Uh oh.

This week's podcast we can finally talk about those big games we've been playing, or a few of them, at least! Not only is it Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth time, it's also time for justice: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy time. As Lyle has been playing Capcom's trilogy for a while now, Adam has been having the time of his life in Hawaii, finishing off the latest in Ichiban and Kasuga's tale.
Elsewhere, all three of the gang (Chris Hyde is back, finally!) have been playing a lovely indie called Lil' Guardsman which the whole team has been keeping an eye on for a while now. Does it live up to the hopes we had, and what on earth is it thinking releasing during the madness that is January in games?

Lyle and Adam have been playing Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, which is a lovely indie title that might have a bad name, but is worth your time. Meanwhile, Mick has been playing Welcome to ParadiZe for preview, and Adam has been testing out the No Return rogue-lite mode in The Last of Us Part II Remastered, while also checking on the new features.

As the year cranks slowly into life, that can only mean one thing: it's time for a first podcast of 2024.
The usual podcast catch-up has to happen, so we can find out what people have been playing over the Christmas period, but for Adam and Lyle that mostly involves Fortnite.
That said, the pair have also been playing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a triple-A MetroidVania, which has enamoured pretty much the entire team, so let's chat about why, shall we, and perhaps discuss if more big studios and publishers should be doing games like this, and not just the usual first-person or third-person titles that seem to be all the rage these days.

Best multiplayer is more stacked than we thought this year, and it's no shock we've been enjoying games like Remnant 2 as a team, but best new character? Corr, that's a spicy one. Emotions will run high and friendships will be broken. Not really, we're all still friends, but hey, it does get spicy.

Well here we are again, with the first day of the Game of the Year 2023 awards from GodisaGeek - a plethora of hours of podcasts await you, listener.
As is tradition on day one of the podcast, the first three awards up for debate for GOTY 2023 are best re-release (HD remaster, remakes, etc), nicest surprise (something that happened, or a game that came from left field somehow), and biggest disappointment (a more nebulous award, which can be a game we wanted to be good that was not, or something negative that happened in the gaming space in 2023).

This week's podcast sees the return of Chris White to talk all things Like a Dragon / Yakuza, after the release of the latest title, and ahead of 2024's turn-based RPG game.
That said, Chris Hyde and Adam are pretty smitten with a smaller, indie SoulsVania (that's Mick's term, and we're using it!) that is addictive, but nobody seems aware of. Meanwhile, Adam gets to talk about Super Mario RPG, and the team get asked the burning question: What do they want from GTA6? We mention it on the podcast also, but it's worth noting we may not be exactly "weekly" now, while we prepare and eventually record our GOTY 2023 awards.
