415. Xbox and Bethesda, Hades

Returning from the wilderness this week, it’s Adam Carroll and Nicola Ardron, and they’re joining up with Mick Fraser and Adam Cook to talk about Hades, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Spiritfarer, and Spelunky 2.

But also, not much has happened except OH GOD Microsoft bought Zenimax, which includes Bethesda, and my my, there’s a lot to chat about because of that. Sexy voices are part of the listener correspondence, and Adam has rewritten everyone’s Twitter biographies for them, so that’s nice. 

414. PS5 Price, Date, Launch Lineup reveal, Crash Bandicoot 4 demo

Chris White and Adam Cook have been playing a bit of the Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time demo, and have a lot of thoughts on it, while Chris Hyde must surely have been playing Super Mario 3D All-Stars, right?

The PS5 price date and launch lineup has been revealed, but some mixed messaging and last-gen info has given the trio plenty to chat about on this week’s show. But now we know everything, almost, so it’s time to see what way the lads are going to go on launch day.

413. Marvel's Avengers, Xbox Series X revealed

We’re bringing news back, folks. After just one single listener asked, we buckled, so now we talk about games, game news, and listener correspondence, too.

First up this week, is Marvel’s Avengers, which the internet seems to hate but the three man crew of Mick Fraser, Adam Cook, and Chris Hyde might just disagree on that one. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 still continues to wow the pod-crew, and Mick has had a bit of a go on Spellbreak, too.

In the news, well, the biggest thing recently is surely… well, you know! The Xbox Series S and X have been fully revealed with dates, prices, and everything. Ubisoft went Forward with some more game reveals, too. Listener correspondence gets sexy and musical, so make of that what you will. It’s a packed pod fully of games and whimsy, get listening, and stop reading this text you mad person!

412. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, Little Hope, Wasteland 3

It’s your weekly dose of major enthusiasm, as Adam Cook and Chris Hyde are going gaga over what they’ve played this week. Both are loving the preview build of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope they played, while Adam is head over heels in love with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2… and, surprisingly, Wasteland 3 as well.

The two have a long overdue chat about Control’s AWE DLC and answer some questions that demand passionate answers and might divide the community. Which Chocolate tin is best?

411. Spiritfarer, Wasteland 3, Fall Guys

Chris Hyde gets centre stage this week to talk about Spiritfarer (Adam interrupts), Risk of Rain 2 (Mick interrupts), and Fall Guys (Adam loses his mind), but there's also time to discuss Tony Hawk, some Batman game reveals, Wasteland 3, and a little bit of listener correspondence for good measure.

410. Tony Hawk, Battletoads, UFC4

Chris has been sportsing it up with some UFC 4 and PGA Tour 2K21, which he and Adam Cook are both fans of. But he’s also been being super cool and edgy because he really likes the 2020 reboot of Battletoads.

Adam Carroll, Cook, and Mr White have all fallen head over heels in love with the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 demo and cannot wait for the full game, too.

A few listener questions this week, which are about beating up game characters and remaking old classics.

409. Rogue Legacy 2, Mortal Shell, Microsoft Flight Simulator

Here’s a statement I thought I’d never write: this podcast contains discussions about Microsoft Flight Simulator and nobody is making fun of that. Mick Fraser has reviewed it, but at the time of recording this episode, he and Adam Cook had just started playing it, really. As well as that, Mick has also been hard at work Soulsing (sorry) it up with Mortal Shell which, to be fair, he’s pretty happy with.

Chris Hyde has been getting down down, deeper and down with A Total War Saga: Troy, because he’s a self professed nerd, but he’s also had a week of being cool because he’s playing hot-as-they-come indie rogue-like, Rogue Legacy 2. Gary has been (shock! horror!) playing a racing game, but this one is called Pacer and it’s more like Wipeout than Gran Turismo.

Lots of questions revolving around the fact Halo Infinite is now coming out in 2021, and what that means for Xbox Series X, but we also get a chance to talk about PlayStation Now, thanks to another lovely bit of listener correspondence.

408. Avengers beta, Fall Guys, Deep Rock Galactic

The two Adams have gotten together with Mick Fraser and Chris Hyde for a chat about games, and it's a podcast which, let's be honest, features Marvel's Avengers very heavily from the get-go, or the beta version, at least. 

Mick and Adam Carroll have also been playing Ghost of Tsushima still (one has finished it), while the Adams have both have a go on Fall Guys, and have lots of thoughts about it. Elsewhere, Chris Hyde has been playing Deep Rock Galactic and adores it. 

Listener correspondence goes a bit sexual this week, because Mick is here, but that's to be expected. 

407. Project Cars 3, Grounded, Paper Mario: The Origami King

It may be summer (which explains the heat and sweat-levels of the pod-crew this week), but there are a smorgasbord of games to choose from as Adam Carroll is still playing Ghost of Tsushima, and has also started Paper Mario: The Origami King.

 

Gaz is back this week, so has plenty to say about Project Cars 3 (and we have a good old chat about racing games this time) and Carrion, while Adam Cook and Chris Hyde have been playing loads of co-op: we’re talking Grounded, but also Deep Rock Galactic.

406. Xbox Game Showcase, Ghost of Tsushima

As you’d expect, the recent Xbox Game Showcase is on Adam, Chris, Mick, and Adam’s minds, so the gang go through their thoughts and feelings on all things Xbox Series X, Game Pass, and more.

 

Elsewhere, everyone has played or is playing Ghost of Tsuhima, and there’s some spicy listener correspondence to get through. Woof. Hot.
