430.Mass Effect, 13 Sentinels, The Medium

So many games and questions this week, as topics move from Hitman 3 to 13 Sentinels, The Medium and Ys IX, there's revisits to God of War and Apex Legends, Control Ultimate Edition is out. PHEW!

 

Oh, more? Destruction AllStars, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and Animal Crossing? CORR BLIMEY!

429. The Medium, Balan Wonderworld, Hitman 3

Adam Cook and Chris White have been playing The Medium and have lots of thoughts on it, while Chris Hyde and Adam Cook have been playing Balan Wonderworld (demo) and have less positive thoughts. Meanwhile Adam Carroll and Chris Hyde have been on Hitman 3, while Adam Cook has played Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury in a PREVIEW SENSE. It sounds confusing because there's two Chrises and two Adams, but it's less confusing when they're all talking at the same time.  

Elsewhere, the question is what game would love to wipe our minds over and play fresh for the first time?

428. Resident Evil Village, Hitman 3, Crosscode

Game news is starting to flow as Capcom revealed a new Resident Evil online game, and gameplay of Resident Evil Village. On top of that Microsoft have upped their prices, yikes. Hitman 3 is out and we've been playing that, while Crosscode, a game from years ago is getting love, too.

427. Monster Hunter Rise, Persona 5 Strikers, Star Wars

Adam Cook, Adam Carroll, Mick, and Chris White are here to talk about THAT Monster Hunter Rise demo, but Chris and Adam Cook have also been playing Persona 5 Strikers, while Adam Carroll has gone back to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

There's lots of movies becoming games again, too, and we've some fun listener correspondence which ends up with the team reflection on the new-gen of consoles after a month plus of playing them. 

426.What games are coming in 2021?

The gang are back with a new year, a new theme tune, the same foul mouths, and hopefully a massive list of great games to look forward to in 2021. This is a look forward to what release dates we know, what release dates we don't, and generally just a celebration of what is gonna be a big year for all of the gaming industry.

GOTY 2020: Day Five (The Finale)

It all comes down to this. What exactly is the best game of 2020? Well, we've had nearly ten hours of discussions, dissecting all facets of a tremendous year of games, and what makes each game brilliant, but now it's time to panel beat a top ten list into shape and crown the very best of the bestest best games for 2020. There will almost certainly be some spoilers, some tears, some blood, and some fallings out that can never be truly repaired, but hey, it's Christmas, so that's all to be expected!

Thank you so much for sticking with us through a tough year, and thank you for making it to the end of our (standard) epic podcasts. We love you, and do it for you (and us, but mostly you). Merry Christmas, folks.

GOTY 2020: Day Four

And on Day Four of the GodisaGeek.com GOTY 2020 Celebration Award Podcast Shows, the host did give unto us: ENORMOUS SPOILERS. Day four, as is tradition, is all about story and the moments that resonated most with the pod-team in 2020. That means there will be spoilers for a lot of the major games this year. It's worth noting, of course, for "Best Story" in a game 2020 award we don't intend to spoil games on purpose, but to prove your point, you have to fight for the nitty gritty of these games, and explain why they're the best. That said, "Best Moment" is literally about the moments in games in 2020 that we think are best, so there's no way round that without spoiling. You have been warned!

Come back for day five, the finale, the final one of the days, where we'll crown the best game of 2020. What a journey. Wow. We're amazing.

GOTY 2020: Day Three

In day three, we're back to our long-form best despite there being only two categories to argue over. Best multiplayer is one of the hottest groups ever this year, but our second new category this year has a lot of competition too, who will be the best new character of 2020? With the arrival of best new character, there will be spoilers, though we do keep them to a minimum ahead of the full on story discussions of day four.

A new award ends day two, as we discuss the best new idea in a game, but not before we talk about the best audio and the best visual design of games in 2020. GOTY 2020: Day One

In day one of our annual game of the year celebration podcasts, we look at the best remaster/remake/re-release of the year, then move onto the nicest surprise of 2020, before hitting up the biggest disappointment of the year in gaming. There's no spoilers on day one, but note that as the episode draw towards the day five conclusion, we have to get deep into these games to discuss why they should or shouldn't win!
